The Case for Trousers and T-shirts In the Summer

The Case for Trousers and T-shirts In the Summer
13 July 2017

are now in the middle of summer, which means that we are at the apex of summer heat waves. As much as we would collectively like to wear shorts all summer long, they just don’t cut it when it comes to style. So when there is an occasion that calls for us to wear pants during the sweltering heat, the majority of us sacrifice our body temperatures and simply ride it out wearing uncomfortable denim. Some of you guys who are still doing the whole ripped jeans thing and might argue that the distressing in the jeans allows for some much needed airflow, but let’s be honest, the whole exposing half of your knee look has gotten tiresome. It’s time to put the whole multiple holes in your jeans look a rest, and give trousers a shot.

When you dig a little deeper in the world of menswear, there are options for comfortable yet still stylish dressing in the summer heat. Recently the suit pant or trouser, has been given new life by menswear aficionados, who have injected an aura of cool in the pants by unpairing them with jackets and anything formal and solely wearing the pants on their own in a casual manner. The result is being more comfortable and more breathability in your your legs. Wearing a pair of “dress pants” in the middle of summer when you’re not at work might feel foreign, but it’s a lot easier than you think it is. At the end of the day, it’s just a pair of pants and you know how to wear those your whole life.Recommendation? This isn’t even a sponsored post, yet I still feel obliged to plug the Uniqlo Kando Pants. They are light, stretchy, breathable, and unbeatable for the price point and for keeping you cool in the heat.

Now that you’re beginning to be sold on the idea of wearing a pair of trousers outside the nine to five, you’re most likely wondering what you can pair with your pants. The answer… T-shirts.

One street style move that can be effortlessly replicated is the t-shirt tucked in a pair of pants. When you pair a t-shirt with a pair of pants there seems to be nothing special with it. But something magical  happens when you simply tuck in your t-shirt. The casualness of a graphic t-shirt perfectly contrasts the formal lines and shape of a pair of trousers plays in a cool way. Still not sold? Click, here, here, and here. You could never go wrong with just a plain white tee and a black pair of pants. You could definitely take things to the next level by switching out a basic tee with some graphic ones. The tuck has the ability to give your graphic t-shirt more age and maturity. and that’s definitely not a bad thing if you’re a older dude who still fancies the odd supreme t-shirt here and there (points to myself).+

It’s only natural since most men would not even think about t-shirt tucking, let alone doing it with suit pants. But you know what, fuck em. Standing out from the masses of untucked sloppy tees is a good thing. It’s not like you’re wearing something that is attention seeking, you’re just wearing your clothes we all have in a different way. With the current menswear climate of mixing and matching different styles and silhouettes, the t-shirt tuck with a pair of trousers will have you feeling cool and effortless all summer long.
